What is a computerised embroidery machine?
A computerised embroidery machine reads a digital design file (DST, DSB and similar formats) and drives one or more needle heads and a moving frame to reproduce that design in thread. Each head carries several needles threaded in different colours, and the machine switches colours automatically. Industrial machines run at hundreds to well over a thousand stitches per minute, which is why they power everything from a single logo on a cap to thousands of metres of embroidered dress fabric.
In India, embroidery machines are used by garment exporters, saree and suit manufacturers, uniform and corporate-wear suppliers, boutiques, cap and T-shirt printers, and home-textile producers.
Types of embroidery machines
Choosing the type comes first — it decides what you can produce.
Single‑head (compact) embroidery machine
One embroidery head with 12 or 15 needles. Ideal for boutiques, custom-print shops, uniform and corporate-wear businesses, and anyone starting out. A good compact machine handles caps, finished T-shirts, polos, shoes, socks and bags on the same machine.
Sinsim PEC seriesMulti‑head embroidery machine
Several identical heads (typically 2 to 31) stitching the same design at once. This is the workhorse of garment exporters, saree and suit-fabric units and bulk logo production — output scales with every head you add.
Sinsim FD/FC fabric seriesCap and garment embroidery machine
A machine with a tubular arm and cap frame so finished, already-sewn products can be embroidered: caps, jackets, pockets, sleeves. Most modern compact machines are multi-function and include this.
Sinsim PEC seriesChenille and chain stitch embroidery machine
Creates the raised, towel-like texture of varsity letters and patches, and decorative chain stitch. Combination machines run flat, chenille and chain stitch in a single design.
Sinsim chenille seriesSequin, cording and taping embroidery machines
Special devices attach sequins, cords, tapes and beads during embroidery — essential for bridal wear, ethnic fashion and home furnishing in India.
Sinsim special machinesHow to choose the right embroidery machine
- 01. What you will embroiderCaps and finished garments need a tubular, multi-function machine. Running fabric (sarees, suits, dress material) suits a multi-head flat machine with a large embroidery area.
- 02. Daily volumeEstimate pieces per day. One head suits low-volume custom work; when orders repeat in hundreds, every extra head multiplies output without multiplying operators.
- 03. Number of needles (colours)Needles per head decide how many thread colours run without re-threading. 12 or 15 needles cover most logo and fashion work; 6 or 9 are common on high-speed fabric lines.
- 04. Embroidery areaThe maximum design size per head. Large fabric panels, borders and home textiles need a bigger frame than logos and badges.
- 05. Speed and stabilityLook at rated RPM (stitches per minute) and, more importantly, whether the machine holds that speed all shift without thread breaks. Servo drives and rigid frames matter more than a headline number.
- 06. Special effectsIf your market wants sequins, cording, chenille or taping, choose a platform that supports those devices now or later.
- 07. Service in IndiaDowntime costs more than the machine. Check installation, operator training, spare-parts availability and how fast a technician reaches you.
Embroidery machine price in India: what decides it
There is no single “embroidery machine price” — a compact single-head machine and a 31-head fabric line are different investments. These factors set the final price:
- Number of heads — the single biggest driver
- Needles per head and embroidery area
- Rated speed, drive system and frame build
- Special devices: sequin, cording, chenille, taping, laser
- Frames and accessories (cap frames, tubular and clamp frames)
- Installation, training, warranty and service package
