Straight Answers Before You Spend
Chenille and chain stitch are not faster ways to do flat embroidery — they are a different product. The stitch stands up off the fabric with a raised, looped or cut-pile texture that photographs well and, more importantly, commands a higher price per piece. The MT series matters because it combines flat, chenille and chain stitch heads on a single machine, so one design can carry a flat-stitched logo and a chenille-filled letterform without the piece leaving the machine.
Buy this if
- Varsity, letterman and team apparel where raised lettering is the expected finish
- Children's wear and knitwear, where texture sells the garment on the hanger
- Badges, patches and emblem manufacturers supplying institutions and uniforms
- Home décor and furnishing producers making blankets, throws and cushion work
- Footwear and accessory brands looking for a finish competitors cannot easily match
Look elsewhere if
- High-volume plain flat logo work — you would be paying for chenille capability that sits unused, and a dedicated flat machine runs it faster
- Very fine detail and small lettering, which chenille cannot resolve; it is a bold, coarse texture by nature
- Operations without an operator willing to learn a genuinely different craft — chenille needs more setup judgement than flat embroidery
What Buyers Wish They'd Asked
Yarn, not thread
Chenille runs thicker yarn than flat embroidery thread, with its own supply chain and cost per metre. Confirm your yarn source and its consistency before committing — inconsistent yarn thickness shows up immediately in the pile height.
Lint is real, and planned for
Chenille generates considerably more lint than flat embroidery. The temperature-regulated forced-air cooling and self-cleaning chenille hook system are there specifically to manage this, but daily cleaning remains part of the routine rather than an optional extra.
The flat-to-chenille head ratio is your product mix
Configurations such as MT(9+6)(12+12) mean 9 flat needles and 6 chenille colours across 12 flat and 12 chenille heads. That ratio decides what proportion of your output can be flat versus textured, and it is difficult to change later. Map it to the order book you actually expect, not the one you hope for.
Colour changes work differently
Chenille colour changes are mechanical and slower than flat needle changes. Designs that alternate chenille colours frequently will run notably slower than the head count suggests, so design your artwork with the machine in mind.
How to specify it
Decide the flat-to-chenille ratio first, because it is the specification you cannot revisit cheaply. Chenille colour options of 6, 9 or 12 follow from how much colour variety your designs carry. If chenille is a growing sideline rather than your core product, the compact PEX chenille series is a lower-commitment way to take the work in-house and prove the demand before buying a full MT line.

Every Sinsim PRI installation includes the following as standard. If a quote you are comparing does not, you are not comparing like with like.
Transport to your premises and placement on your floor, including access assessment before dispatch.
Levelling, calibration and a test run on your own fabric and design file — the machine is signed off producing your work, not a showroom sample.
On-site training for your operators and maintenance staff at no additional cost, with refresher sessions available through your regional service hub.
Cover on electronics, motors and control systems with extended coverage on the frame. Consumables such as needles, hooks and thread guides are excluded. Exact terms are confirmed on your quotation.
Fast-moving parts stocked regionally for 48-hour delivery in serviced cities; less common parts ship from central stock within 3–5 working days.
Introductions to NBFC and equipment-financing partners for EMI and lease structures, arranged around your order size.
